Solar Panels, Photovoltaic, Solar PV
Photovoltaic (PV) cells produce electricity directly from sunlight, a free and inexhaustible energy source. The sunlight is converted to DC (direct current) electricity which is stored in a battery bank. When there is an electrical demand, the current is passed through an inverter changing it to AC (alternating current) electricity to run normal household appliances. This allows you to rely on the existing utility power as a backup.

PV is distinct from other kinds of solar energy in that it harnesses the sun's light, rather than its heat.

Photovoltaic cells are extremely low-maintenance and have a long lifespan.
